YouTube has revolutionized the way people upload and share videos with others around the world. Now, some real estate firms are planning to take a page from YouTube's success by using high quality video to attract customers.
Real Estate Planning Begins on Web
About 80 percent of people looking for real estate search for homes on the Internet, according to CNNMoney.com. Although some real estate Web sites are planning to add more still photos, others are offering streaming video to give visitors a more interactive experience. Take note of this trend if you want to break into the world of real estate!
Standing Out in the Crowd
Great real estate sales and marketing means standing apart from competitors and giving customers what they want -- which in many cases is comprehensive tours of properties 24/7.
"Today, it's all about how to engage the consumer. Consumers control the up-front process and have all the information and tools they need to do a large part of the real estate agents' jobs themselves," Charlie Young, vice president for marketing for broker Coldwell Banker, told CNNMoney.com.
Trend May Help You Score Big in Real Estate
Using streaming video to increase sales and improve marketing of real estate will likely continue to pick up steam since the industry has become glutted with agents, and many will either quit or find new ways to drum up business.
"The industry probably has 20% to 25% more agents than it needs," Ronald Peltier, chief executive of HomeServices of America Inc., told the Wall Street Journal Online.
