Professional Associations
Professional associations exist to accommodate a diverse group of people in a wide variety of careers. They are intended to act as an information network for individuals as well as a network of people, organizations and companies working in your profession.
Most professional associations charge an annual fee for membership and most times, the fee buys your membership as well as a subscription to the association publication. Fees can range in price but generally fall in the $40 to $500 range.
Often times, professional associations sponsor conferences and lectures around the world. Members generally get a discounted ticket and enjoy other luxuries at the conference.
