Getting into the top MBA schools takes hard work. You need top notch recommendations, a strong undergraduate GPA and demonstrated leadership. All of these things must be achieved throughout the course of your academic and professional career but, the GMAT is one thing that you can control and score well on with only a few months notice and your score just might change the course of your MBA career.
GMAT Prep Class
A GMAT prep class will help you prepare for taking the GMAT in one of many ways. Courses are designed to meet the needs of a variety of test takers including the full time student and the full time employee. With that in mind, you will be able to find classroom classes, private tutoring and even online programs that will teach you test strategies and guide you through practice tests in preparation for the big day.
GMAT prep classes are also available in "crash" format so that if you have a limited time to study before the test, you will get at least a little bit of instruction. You can elect to stick to books and practice exams in order to structure your own GMAT prep class if that is the best way for you to learn.
Free GMAT Practice Test
In the age of the internet, you can download free GMAT practice tests online which will help you prepare for the GMAT. Free GMAT practice tests can be found on several web-sites and test prep organization's web-sites.
Once you register for the GMAT you will receive a free GMAT practice test with your registration confirmation. When you register for a GMAT prep class you will have additional access to free GMAT practice tests and additional preparation material.
Taking the GMAT
Registering for the GMAT is relatively simple. You can register online after checking test centers and seat availability. The GMAT is offered around the world at various testing sites. Be sure to check the type of site you are scheduled to visit; some are permanent while others are mobile.
The GMAT cost is $250 worldwide, and the GMAT cost can be paid with a number of different forms of payment. You can send the scores to MBA schools around the world, including the top MBA schools that you might be interested in going to. The GMAT is intimidating, your MBA career depends on it and so in order to build the MBA career that you desire, preparing for the test is critical.
